Incentive Event of the Year - Winner

TAG is an independent travel and event management company. In 2019 the Events team expanded to Los Angeles, in their first year they smashed all expectations, targets and became a player to ‘watch out for’ in 2020.  

TAG successfully organised a highly-memorable incentive for Mimecast, the cloud-based technology platform. The event was held in Vietnam, running a dual-destination event within Hanoi & Halong Bay over four days in May 2019.

The brief was to create and implement the annual incentive trip for the top sales employees, plus partners from across the globe. Requirements were to match the first-class experiences for 156 guests, in a unique destination and create bespoke activities and dinners. 

TAG took a risk as the client had not taken a group to Asia before and were accustomed to staying in wealthier locations - TAG was suggesting ‘less luxury more experience’. The marketing approach had to change in order to entice and inform guests about Vietnam to manage expectations.

The program included a river cruise, rice field biking, a Monk Blessing and a private island beach party. 

TAG solved challenges including the disappearance of the DMC with only two weeks until kick off, torrential wet weather six hours before an outside dinner and a national mourning resulting in events being banned.

Over 18 months the team turned event vision into reality; being ‘blown away’ was a common term used in feedback. Lasting memories and game-changing experiences were created and their dare to be different approach paid off.
